Sanja Brkanović holds a double M.Sc from the University of Copenhagen and University College Cork in sustainable development and EU food policy. She further holds a B.Sc from the University of British Columbia Faculty of Land and Food Systems and is a registered Dietitian with the Canadian college. Currently, Sanja is completing her Doctorate in New Media and Communications at the University of Belgrade. Sanja has over 16 years of professional experience successfully contributing to studies for DG Regio, DG Internal Policies, ESPON, the EPRC, the IBRD, IUCN, the B.C Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Forestry, and the B.C. YMCA. She has expertise in monitoring and evaluation, risk assessment, ex-ante and ex-post evaluations, training, and programme implementation across the fields of regional development, agricultural policy, and sustainable tourism. Sanja has been active in the Western Balkans region since 2015, having worked on numerous projects in Serbia, Croatia., and the rest of the region. Sanja is fluent in English, French and Serbian and has good knowledge of Spanish and German.
Marko Pešić has been working in the fields of public administration reform and project/programme evaluation for more than 13 years. Being a graduated economist (MA, 2012), he has specialised in impact evaluation, risk assessment, EU accession process and policy/regulatory impact analysis, and has had experience in these fields through engagement as a public service in the Government of Serbia, and through various research projects and programme implementation in Western Balkans, working for Council of Europe, GIZ, EU Commission, SDC, USAID, IUCN, UNDP, and the civil sector. Marko Pesic is a renowned expert in policy making and policy evaluation, with a strong focus on planning system reform, having influenced the legislative framework for public policy planning in Serbia and still in use for strategies and other planning documents. Over the course of his career, he has gained valuable experience in programme development, implementation and monitoring, policy drafting, baseline research, HR management consultancy in the local self-government and capacity building (conducted more than 50 trainings in fields of regulatory impact assessment, policy drafting, project management, etc.). Marko is fluent in Serbian and English and has a basic knowledge of French.
Aleksandra is a multi-lingual communications professional with unique strengths in editing. Capable of crafting copy that resonates with diverse audiences, she specialises in translating complex technical and business concepts into compelling narratives. Aleksandra has a strong academic research background and holds a Master’s degree in History with a focus on 20th-century food and nutrition discourses. Aleksandra has ample experience working with companies, NGOs and international donor companies on building communication strategies and implementing HR campaigns. Aleksandra is fluent in English and Serbian and has good knowledge of French.
